CAMP DATES: June 18-21, 2017
LOCATION: ECKERD COLLEGE is located in south St. Petersburg at 4200 54th Avenue South. Traveling from Tampa/Clearwater travel south on I-275 and take Exit 17. Traveling from the south take I-275 north, cross the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and then take Exit 17.
ARRIVAL: Arrive between 10:00am-1:00pm Sunday, June 18th. Camp begins at 3:00pm and Meals begin with dinner on Sunday.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: We offer free shuttle service to and from the Tampa airport for students that are flying to Penny's Camp. To make shuttle reservations, please call 772-410-4636 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your arrival/departure flight information. Shuttle reservations must be made by June 15th!
DAY CAMPERS: Classes generally run from 8:00am-12:00pm, 1:00-4:30pm, 6:00-7:30pm. Class times vary slightly for each camp. Meals are not provided by ECKERD COLLEGE, however day campers can buy meals or bring their own lunch/dinner.
COST: $370 for overnight campers, includes lodging, meals, and instruction. $195 for day campers, includes instruction only (buy or bring lunch/dinner). NO PERSONAL CHECKS. Mail cashier’s checks or money order only (made payable to Penny’s Band Camp). CASH ONLY FOR BALANCES PAID AT CHECK-IN. School and Band Parent Association checks accepted (made payable to Penny’s Band Camp)
GROUP/SPONSOR DISCOUNTS: Groups that are paying with one check and have 10 or more campers can contact the camp director for discount information and may send one sponsor for FREE. Other sponsors can attend for $195.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: After June 12th, please call 772-410-4636 or email us at email@example.com for availability. Late applications will be charged a late fee of $25.
MEDICAL FORMS: Please mail the medical form with your registration and payment. (Medical Form is attached in registration document).
AGES: Rising 7th – 12th grade students (All rising 7th & 8th grade students are encouraged to be DAY CAMPERS). Teachers/sponsors are invited to attend camp either as a student or chaperone.
WHAT TO BRING: Poncho or rain coat, twin bed sheets, pillow, blanket, bath towel & wash cloth, soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene items. All campers will have some outside sessions and should wear athletic clothing (shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers) and bring spending money for snacks and the camp t-shirt! DRUM MAJORS need a device to record audio (most cell phones have this feature) and a notebook. LEADERSHIP CAMP students need to bring their MARCHING INSTRUMENT.
HOME ROUTINES: Color Guard/Dance groups who have prepared home routines for camp will be evaluated on Sunday night. This evaluation is for groups (not individuals).
FINAL EVALUATIONS: Parents, directors, and sponsors are invited to attend. Color Guard Drill Down and Final Evaluations will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday in the Gymnasium. Drum Major final evaluations will be at 1:00pm in Miller Auditorium. Marching Percussion will perform at 2:00pm in the Gym, just prior to awards. There is no final evaluation or performance for the Leadership Camp. *Times are approximate and are subject to change based on the number of students that each camp evaluates. Campers will be notified of any time changes and should inform their parents.
DEPARTURE & AWARDS: The Final Camp Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday at 2:15pm in the Gymnasium. After awards, students must check-out of their room and turn in their room key before leaving Eckerd College.
